The Cancer Society of Melbourne University (CSM) is excited to present our first seminar of 2021: EARLY CAREER ONCOLOGISTS!
Passionate about oncology but not sure what to do about it? Ever wondered what oncologists do each day? Looking for a fresh perspective of the training pathway?
Come along and hear from two incredible early career oncologists about how they got to where they are now, what their day to day job looks like and the highlights and challenges of their career. You will also have the exciting opportunity to ask our speakers questions during the Q&A.
SPEAKERS:
  • Dr Shehara Mendis is a medical oncologist at Cabrini Health and Western Health and a Clinical Research Fellow at the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. Dr Mendis has completed a clinical and research fellowship in cancers of the gastrointestinal tract and has been involved in research involving the role of cell-free DNA and whole-genome sequencing in GI cancers.
  • Dr Arsha Anton is a medical oncologist at Eastern Health with an interest in breast and genitourinary malignancies and Clinical Research Fellow in the Gibbs Lab at the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. Dr Arsha is undertaking a higher research degree evaluating clinical registry use to optimise prostate cancer management.
